Notice: Resumption of Korea Post Services to the U.S

We are pleased to inform you that Korea Post international shipping services to the U.S. — including EMS, K-Packet, Airmail, and Sea Shipping — have officially resumed.

1. Resumed Services

The following shipping options are now available again:

  • EMS
  • International Parcel (Air & Sea)
  • K-Packet

2. Customs Duty Payment (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid)

Due to recent U.S. customs policy changes, the duty payment method has been updated:

  • Payer: Sender prepays (no additional charge for recipient)
  • Method: K-GoodsShop prepays duties & fees at the time of shipping (included in shipping fee)
  • Rate: Approx. 15% for Korean products (varies by item & origin)
  • Example: For a USD 200 item → Duty USD 30 + Postal fee (USD 1.04 + 10% of duty = USD 3) → Total duty = USD 34.04

3. Benefits of Prepaid Duties

  • No separate duty payment required in the U.S.
  • Faster customs clearance & delivery
  • Minimizes disputes or misunderstandings
  • Some food items (e.g. snacks) can now be shipped

4. Exceptions & Precautions

  • Shipments over USD 800 → recipient must pay duties directly
  • Product names must be detailed and accurate on customs declaration
  • False undervaluation may result in rejection, return, or disposal
  • All shipments to the U.S. must be declared as “Merchandise”

5. FAQ

Q1: Do I need to pay customs duties in the U.S.?
A:
No. For parcels under USD 800, duties are already included in your shipping fee.

Q2: What if my order is above USD 800?
A:
For shipments over USD 800, the recipient in the U.S. may be responsible for paying duties and taxes directly.

Q3: Can I ship food items?
A:
Yes, some food items such as snacks can now be shipped. However, all food products must comply with U.S. import restrictions and FDA/USDA regulations. Please check before shipping.

Q4: How should I fill out the customs declaration form?

A: • Provide clear product names, detailed descriptions, and country of origin
